Buckeye Facilities

Our 40,000 square foot, ISO 9001 Certified Compounding Facility, located in Lodi, OH, is equipped with two single screw extruders and two co-rotating twin screw extruders with downstream side port feeders. These downstream feeders allow for the introduction of additives and fillers which lead to superior homogeneity of the resultant product. The twins are also equipped with Gala underwater pelletizers which result in the production of uniform pellets.

Incoming materials are tested and inventoried for use in particular formulations. They are subsequently blended in one of our four blenders, ranging from 250 to 10,000 pounds allowing for homogenous blends prior to the extrusion process. These blends are tested in our quality laboratory to ensure that the required physical and mechanical properties of the final product will be achieved.

Our 60,000 square foot recycling facility is located in Sebring, OH, grinds and washes post-industrial and post consumer plastic parts, purgings, and resins. The material produced at this facility offers ongoing, high quality feedstreams to Buckeye Polymers’ compounding operation. In some cases we directly supply to the injection molding and extrusion facilities requesting recycled contents feedstocks.

With these locations for both compounding and recycling facilities, we can offer our customers the opportunity to participate in “closed loop recycling programs”, which not only help save the environment, but also save our customers money.
